KTR sends legal notice to Bandi Sanjay, demands apology for defamatory remarks

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has issued a legal notice to Union Minister and BJP MP Bandi Sanjay, accusing him of making defamatory and baseless remarks. KTR has demanded an unconditional public apology within a week, failing which he warned of legal action.
The notice follows after Bandi Sanjay made comments on October 19. Sanjay accused KTR of involvement in drug use and alleged that the BRS government, under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), was involved in phone tapping. Sanjay further claimed that KTR had met secretly with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to evade legal issues.
In the legal notice, KTR expressed outrage, stating that these accusations were fabricated with malicious intent to damage his reputation. “Bandi Sanjay’s remarks are not just false, but they also aim to lower my public standing and tarnish my character,” KTR stated, dismissing the claims as politically motivated.
KTR challenged Bandi Sanjay to provide evidence supporting these allegations, warning that making defamatory claims without proof would have legal consequences. He emphasised that the statements were not only untrue but also a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. The legal notice also highlighted that the remarks had been widely circulated in the media and on social platforms, further damaging KTR’s image.
KTR, who has served five terms as an MLA and as a minister for nine years, strongly denied all allegations related to drug use and phone tapping. He noted that Bandi Sanjay, as a Union Minister, holds a position of responsibility and should not make false claims to serve a political agenda.
KTR demanded a public retraction of the statements and an apology. He warned that if Sanjay fails to comply, he will move forward with defamation and criminal proceedings against him.
